Default Baking Paint?

All right, guys. I'm hoping this isn't gonna make me sound stupid (too late). I've got to repaint my fog/driving light bezels. I've only had them a couple months and they're already chipped up. They're aluminum, and came with a gray primer. I scuffed them a bit and applied a couple coats of black Dupli-color sandable primer, Ford G5 basecoat from automotivetouchup.com, then a couple coats of Dupli-color Acrylic Lacquer. Apparently That didn't get the job done. On this second go 'round, should I consider baking them as they cure? I mean in a conventional gas kitchen oven. Or, is that the craziest thing you've ever heard?

Don't think baking spray paint will increase it's durability. I am sure it will dry faster between coats and stink up the house pretty bad. Have you considered sanding them down and going with the brushed aluminum look?
