Default Body colored lights?

I bought a black 3rd brake light(black housing with clear lens)... but I don't like the way it stands out on my white car. I was thinking a clear brake light would look good, but all the ones I've seen have a black ring around it. I have this idea to paint my 3rd brake light and marker lights white to match my car. I had my tail lights painted black by a body shop, but I'm going to try and paint my 3rd brake light and marker lights myself. I think there small enough, I couldn't mess them up that bad. lol My body shop guy said he mixed 15% black to the clearcoat and did 4 coats... so I'm thinking if I buy the High Performance white and mix it 15% to the clearcoat, I should be good! I just don't want it to look pink once I turn my lights on. lol Any thought on this idea???

ahh, the benefits of black car... I had my 3rd and sidemarkers tinted dark (with my tails Medium)... Make sure you get the correct white... you'd be surprised at how hard it is to match white.
For a white car, instead of mixing, have you thought about painting solid and leaving a clear strip (or even write mustang) so the light can shine through?
You can also paint completely over it and buy a LED strip for your rear window as your new 3rd brake light. Or if you want to go totally crazy you can have the slot welded totally up and move the 3rd light up to the window

I ordered the High Performance white already mixed up, so it should match pretty good! I'd love to get the whole light welded up and get the window light instead... but that sounds pretty expensive. Maybe sometime in the future! Hmm... it might be kinda cool to write mustang though!

yeah, it's as simple as putting a sticker on when you paint it, then peeling to show the red.
I was planning on welding up the spot myself, but now i'm planning on getting a 2011 so why bother haha

good luck!
