Show me your 2010 GT500 hood vents

I have lots of prep pics, and lots of post pics...but nothing from when I actually started cutting.
wife refused to take pictures and I just wanted to be done with the install.
went really easy. used a jig saw with a fine tooth metal cutting blade. the aluminum hood slices almost like butter.
FYI: make sure to tape and mask off the entire area where you will be cutting. it's super easy to scratch your paint. the cutting process creates really fine particles of aluminum and slag that can do a number on the paint.
maybe when I pull the vent off to do my SS stripes I can do a install guide. we'll see

I used 3m tape to connect them. If its not gonna work I use rivets.
Here are pics without the stripes, it will be raining for a few days and I have to wait with installation.

oh yeah...lay a blanket over the motor. those aluminum chips are a real mother f'er to get out. I used a blanket and I'm still digging them out of the engine bay
looks damn good in contrast against that red. I think you'll end up with rivets though. I tried to not use them, but the 3m tape just doesn't cut it...and they look cool

spiechu--sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. The install looks great! Can't wait to see it with stripes.
For anyone else contemplating this mod, in addition to this thread, read my install thread. https://mustangforums.com/forum/2005...hood-vent.html
Also read nite's install thread. https://mustangforums.com/forum/2005...5-to-09-a.html
In short, yes you have to slightly modify the vent. A dremel is the perfect tool. Cut the front lip off and cut the threaded stud off.
BE CAREFUL CUTTING THE STUD OFF!!! I found out the hard way that you will soften/melt the plastic if you don't keep it cool while using the dremel cutoff wheel. Take you time and cool it with a wet paper towel or something.

Can someone send me a PM and tell me where to get this part for less than 300 dollars? Here's what I got from that Ford Parts site you had a link to above:
AR3Z16C630AB $365.00 $0.00 $304.04
Hood - Exterior trim - Scoop
Scoop 2010
That can't be right. If so, it went up from 50 bucks to 350 bucks.
If someone could send me a direct link somewhere for a good price on this vent it would be great. Thanks!
