Default Colored Steering wheels

I like the option ford has for color-match steering wheels on the new 2011's. I looked around and found that you can get them for the 05-09, but they are VERY expensive. HERE THEY ARE AT $400 You can get them in 7 different OEM colors (And on another site I found grabber blue). It reuses your airbag and controls, so no loss there.

Any ideas how I can get a nice bit of red on my wheel to complement my interior, without it costing an arm and a leg, and without it looking like a cheap-*** wheel cover? What about some sort of tape or wrap or.... hell I don't know...

I can still imagine how nice it would look with my interior below:

Kind of like the new Ford ones but not the same at all.

I can't say I like it very much.
I don't like control panel part being colored and I don't like
the shiny color on the wheel.
Tell you the truth they look kind of ricey to me.

Would have been better if was like the factory ones with the colored leather.

Yeah, the 2011 OEM colored wheel style is what I'm looking for... but for the 2005-09 I haven't had any luck.

Are the 2011 wheels swappable with the 05-09's you think?

Found these, with at least a splash of color: TAKE A LOOK

You can fit the 2010 steering wheels on the 05-09's. 2010s also have the colored leather steering wheel, heres how: http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums...5-mustang.html

Thanks! Bookmarked the page. Heck, for only 50 bucks, I'll try em... if I don't like them, then no big loss. But, I think they will look nice.

Those are spoke inserts...
I thought we were talking steering wheel cover color here?

I have not seen any colored spokes on the 10-11 stangs....
Those pics you posted also were of colored leather wrapping on the wheel.

Calm down buddy, you're not in the twilight zone! LOL

Yes, I was talking about wheel leather. But, mainly, I'm looking for a way to include my interior accent color to the wheel. Even, though it's not what I was (originally) looking for, this looks like a cheap and easy way to do it.

The red leather wrap is all I'd want to get.
I would think they would fit identical because the size of the steering wheel and spokes seem the same.

I just dont see where they sell the STOCK colored covers.
I've seen the aftermarket ones. Don't like them at ALL.

Maybe Red electrical tape?

If I could find some stock covers (that fit under those inserts) then that is the way I'd go too... but none of us have found them, so I'm left with a $500 option (2010 wheel) or a $50 option (inserts). I think I'll try the $50 one for now.

*If I don't like them, I'll ship them to you for free so you can set fire to them.
