Yeah MRT's '68 hood is easily my favorite for the S197, I have yet to actually see it on anybody's car though.

That's an awesome hood. If only I could buy it...

It's even got the fin down the center. As for the "good hood", it's pretty close as best I can tell. Need more pictures on something besides a white car.

Maybe those turn signals were put in there for those of us who drive around oblivious with our signals on. It's there to preserve style points.

The turn signals were put in the hood to alert drivers in the other lane of your intent to change lanes or make a turn. If someone was next to you they couldn't see your front and back turn signal, but they could see it on your hood. It was a safety feature of the time.

Of course the side benefit was that for those who are oblivious to what is going on they would see that they were driving with the turn signal blinking!

MRT does sell that hood as a stand alone product. I was there last summer for a test fitting and it looked great. Unfortunately there wasn't enough clearance between my saleen s/c and the hood itself. Less than 1/2 inch.

There are several photo's of the hood installed on Bullits on the IMBOC forum in this thread. http://www.imboc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=160005
