Pics of 05 V6 Salvage rebuild

Body shops amaze me. That GT500 picture made me want to cry until I scrolled down and saw it was restored to look like it was completely new. I know a lot of time and effort goes into it, and I find the whole process highly respectable. I wish I had these types of skills myself. Bringing old cars back to life would make one very fun way to make a living.

thats a lot of work! and its awesome the work your doing, that rear corner was majorly messed up! looks good so far, keep us posted.
thats also a lot of work to save the v6 front fascia, did u consider replacing it with a GT or aftermarket front?

I thought about replacing the front bumper, but at the time I hadn't thought I'd need a new hood and buying a new bumper would have required blending the drivers fender which would have been more expensive. Now that I had to buy a hood I have to blend the fender anyways. It wasn't as bad as it seems to fix the front bumper though. I sanded the damaged areas first too so my dad's shop didn't have to. Plus a new bumper would have needed to be primed as well. Though the gt bumper would have looked more agressive (and would have given me more grille options) I'm putting a CDC chin spoiler on which I think will make the bumper look pretty decent.
That hood does look similar to it but I know its not that one because that hood says it has pre-drilled holes for a prop rod and nozzles, which mine didn't have either. I'm glad it didn't have the nozzle holes predrilled as I think nozzles on the hood would have looked ugly, I got a relocater kit for them. The paperwork the guy who sold it to me gave me said it was from extreme dimesions and it was duraflex even though the picture he showed (as well as actual ones) was the cervinis one. So I'm thinking it wasn't a cervinis one but I haven't been able to find where it could be from. In any event I got it for a decent price and I like the look. It took my uncle a while to get it sanded smooth but that happens with any fiberglass hood.
