Default Steering wheel trim

Can anyone tell me if the aluminum covers on the spokes of the steering wheel come off without destroying them. I have looked on ford parts and you can buy them, but I don't want to buy a new set, I want to pull mine off and polish them bright.

Yeah... sorry I didn't see this in time. You could lightly sand them and give them a new coat of silver paint. I even saw a paint that is supposed to look like stainless steel but I have not tried it.
