you will definitely want the felt strips. i bought my car and the windows were already tinted, but it didnt have the felt strips installed, and both windows were pretty bad with deep lines scratched into it all over. i ripped the tint off and had it re-done with the felt added. didnt worry about the windows auto-rolling down when the door opened, and unless someone else here had a different experience, i dont think you should worry at all.

Went ahead and ordered the moleskin and will put off tinting my windows for a week or so.
Can't wait to have it done though

+1 for Tint Protector Felt. It has worked great over the years with no problems.

Still need to get around to tinting. Been busy lately
