They are indeed.
35lbs isn't much by itself but you have to look at it as a list of things to do to save weight...
The engineers figure that they gain 35 on the hood, another 35 on the upholstery another 35 somewhere else and pretty soon you get to 150lbs real quick.
In the end, they shoot themselves in the foot anyway by making this car too long in the first place.

That's true, I guess that the weight reduction all adds up and 35 lbs is pretty significant for just changing the material of one part. I suppose I'm just bitter that they changed to material that they couldn't reliably figure out how to prep for paint.
