Default Interior lighting question

I just bought some LED light strips for under my dash. Mostly for functionality. I sometimes need light in the footwell area (I drop things a lot). Anyway I was going to wire them up to where you would wire up the lighted door sill plates I found in another thread. My question is this, if I wire them up so they come on when the doors open, will they also light up when I turn on interior lights with my dimmer switch? Currently it turns on my map lights, but I'd like it to light up these new footwell lights as well. I hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't mind being able to do that myself (would like to add a little extra lighting).

Being LED's, you could probably power them directly from whatever wire on the dimmer switch switches those lights on. Knowing Ford, the lights are probably powered directly through the switch especially since it's only 2 small bulbs.

However with the new SJB's it may be different. Hopefully someone that knows can chime in.

pop off the dome light, just pull down on it. pull off passenger A pillar cover, its clips you wont break anything. look for the wires that match those in the dome. T-tap into them testing positive and negative. run your wires behind the glove box and down into the footwells. splice up your LEDS and month them where desired.
clean the area really well if alcohol. even after amazing prep on it the drivers side still peeled up a little during the summer months in my car...but then again the summer months also made my door inserts peel off haha

Great thanks for the help. I'll give that a try this weekend.
