Default Cloth versus Leather

You guys helped me out so much with the mach 500 stereo question I now need your opinion on this

Which material is proving to last better, the cloth interior or the leather?

Is the cloth fading, tearing, thinning, snagging, etc.

Is the leather cracking, fading, cheap looking.
Has any one noticed is a certain leather color is prone to problems?

Also, i know mustang GT seats have not been that supportive, with that said, are the cloth and leather seats the same with just a different cover or do the leather seats have firmer bolsters, etc.

Thanks guys

I got the cloth........it doesn't look as sweet as leather. But I want to keep this car for a loooong time, and from past experiences I know leather gets to be hell to keep up. I can't speak for the leather in the new cars though, it may be better than it used to. I just played it safe. If you go with cloth, it is very comfortable and the material is better than any other cloth interior I've ever had in a car.

I bought the leather cause I liked the look and feel of it. I had never owned a car with leather seats, so I took a chance on it. So far they are holding up good. It kind of depends on where you live too. If you live in the south in the sun, then the leather seats will need a lot more keeping up. The leather seats will also be hotter. I'm pretty sure that the seats have the same bolsters and it's just the material that is different.

My old Buick had vinyl seat. Sweat to death in the summer, freeze in the winter. I've had cloth seats in several cars, but they wear out.

You just can't beat leather for its ability to breath and look good after many many miles.

Just keep some good leather conditioner on it and it will last a very long time.

Hope this helps.

I got cloth because of the climate I live in. I'll burn my A$$ in the summer time and freeze it in the winter time.

I have the leather in my car and love it. I suggest you find a dealer that has a mustang with leather and one that has cloth and sit in both to see which one you like best

20k miles on the red leather and it still looks like new. It actually still gives off the leather smell too, although not as strong as when new.

My last few cars have had leather, I don't think I'll ever own a car unless it's leather equipped again. It's easy to take care of and holds up incredibly well. I sold my Honda CRV at 120k miles and no joke, the leather still looked like the day it went into the car (it was a custom install).
