Hood scoop inserts

Hood scoop inserts
hey guys. I have a 2006 black GT coupe with the 3d carbon louvers, quarter scoops, a billet grille on front and lower lip, and a xenon kit hood scoop. I like how the louvers have the faux grille add on from the rear that makes them look functional, but im a little bothered by the hood scoop just looking fake as hell with nothing inside when you look at it from the front. Does anyone know where i might be able to buy online some type of stick on insert or something that looks like metal mesh, or a grill of some sort, just to keep from being able to see the black plastic? ive seen some people do this, however i have no clue where to go. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

RE: Hood scoop inserts
When I got my xenon scoop, I painted the inside flat black.
Looked pretty good from a few feet or farther away, but wasn't totally happy with it.
What did I do to improve it?
I work in the restaurant business.
On the shelves that hold the glases, there is this plastic mesh to allow a little airflow under the glass, and to keep them from sitting directly on the shelf.
This mesh comes in a variety of colors, black being one of them.
I went down to our local restaurant supply store, and bought a foot of this stuff. Very cheap, and more than I need.
Made a template of the area I needed the mesh, and cut out two pieces.
A little super glue, and voila!
I have had the inserts for 4 months now, and they are still holding strong.
Looks really good.
I was looking at some '04 stangs, with the nonfunctional hood and side scoops.
The factory insert on those is just a textured rubber mat.
I think my solution looks 100 times better than that.
If you don't have a restaurant supply in your area, you might be able to find it in a kitchen store, Bed, Bath and Beyond, or, if nothing else, make friends with your bartender, I'm sure he/she can pick some up for you.
Hope this helps.

RE: Hood scoop inserts
Professor Wizard had a cool idea to put part of a grill in his scoop. It was the shaker scoop though, but it should work on a regular scoop. It looked pretty dam* cool!
