Cooking now with Evo (Fred's) tuning!
Ran a new best with Evolution tuning and JLT CAI. 13.151 @ 102.98 mph, 60'- 2.012. Previously with the factory tune and intake 13.421 @ 101.80 mph, 60'-2.011. The air was about 10 degrees cooler but still a nice gain. No improvement in the 60'. I theorize because the newly added torque/hp doesn't come on until the higher rpm. The factory converter won't let the rpm come on until around peak torque. That's quite a few feet after launch. MPH would probably have have shown more gain too had I not had a head wind with Fred's tuning to a strong tail wind with my factory tuning pass.
These automatics sure could benefit from a loose torque converter. Torque comes on slowly at launch. You can feel the torque peaking approximately 2-3 seconds after launch . Has to be costing ET! And the rpm drop between 2-3 and 3-4 could be greatly reduced. 3-4 almost feels like you put on the brakes when it shifts. The gains from the tuning would be greatly increased too because you would have the engine in the power band all the way down the track. That's where the tune and CAI are doing it's job!
I have to recant my theory of the Charge Motion Valve Plates. I logged a run with factory tuning of the plates and found them to be full open at WOT regardless of the rpm. Ran another pass with them programmed full open regardless of rpm and no difference in 60'.
Traction is good on the car with the factory radials. I'm sure a converter would change that.

Glad to hear Larry! I told you it could be done! Are you Ready for the 100 Octane Race Tune? I smell 12's!
