Likes:

1) The engine: gotta love the power of the 4.6 3v
2) The manual tranny. It's a good one.
3) The retro look. It really looks like a Mustang.
4) The convertable. Quiet, easy to get up and down.
5) The leather seats. Nice, comfortable.
6) The wheel options from the factory. I am wierd, but I really like the bullits!
7) The smooth ride. Way smother than my Vette. (what isn't lol)
8) The frame. Stiff, well made. Love the Vert with this frame.
9) The factory exhaust. Sounds good with out any additions.
10) The interior styling.

Dislikes:

1) Don't like the cheaply made interior. Bad even for a Ford.
2) Handling could be a lot better from the factory. Can't even come close to my Vette.
3) Factory audio sucks; all of them.
4) Too heavy. They should have tried to make it lighter.
5) Not a huge fan of the archaic 3-link rear live axle. Same setup my freakin Jeep had!

*disclaimer: The dislikes are not big dislikes, only minor irritants. I freakin love this car!

So that's what the strap thing is for. You think the dealership would have threaded the belt through there when I picked the car up. After 9 months you'd think that I would have figured it out.

Love the car overall....
-decent power (never too much HP)
-good handling (could be a little tighter-too much understeer in hard turns)
-definitely the looks (still get thumb ups and many second glances)
-stereo sounds great (some people say it needs more power but I don't like the bling bling of the thump thump rattling my brains out)
-a/m parts avail. (tons of vendors have stepped up to the plate)

dislikes....
-that damn hood shake...even at 65-70mph it becomes noticable
-seats suck for a sports car...they're comfy but have no lateral support...especially with the leather seats- on a good turn you have to fight to keep yourslef from sliding out of it...
...and no dead-pedal on the floor to push off of..just an empty piece of carpeting
-um...uh...hmm...well that's about it i guess.

I love the way it handles when driving it, such quick response with the steering wheel

First fun car to ever drive and we've owned alot of cars over the years including a camero, thunderbird and a Bonneville that would compare somewhat to the Mustang.

Lots of "get up and go" for a v6

Quiet for a Convertible

With the top down its really not very windy at all sitting in the front seats

It turns heads everytime I drive it

I actually like the stereo system, it sounds better than what is in my 98 truck

I like the way the inside lights flow on instead of instant blinding on

Don't like...

wish the steering wheel would adjust towards the back along with the up and down adjustments. Long legs make the seat go all the way back but the steering wheel can't compensate for that seat adjustment so have to drive with arms straight out.

the back seat leg room is a joke even with the seats all the way forward. We don't have the kids at home anymore so that doesn't matter too much but if the grandaughter were to ride with us sometime she'd have to sit with her legs across the back seat as we have to have our front seats all the way back for our own comfort

the way the windshield spray washers dribble on the hood and leave water marks

not even 6 months old we had a dead battery already?

Too much depends on the smart moduale. Had a trunk light that wasn't working and they traced it to the smart moduale and replace it. Light bulb in trunk was fine.

wow did I just read that you compared this Mustang to a Pontiac Bonneville?
[sm=smiley19.gif]
A bonneville even somewhat is nowhere near a mustang...
a big plushy 4d sedan like a Buick Century...i'm just too upset by this to talk anymore....

I agree...i like to kick my legs out but dont like the extended feeling of the arms...
unfortunately most new cars are like this. The main reason is because of the airbag. If you sit too close (or steering wheel is too close to your chest-same difference) then the airbag can do more harm than good. So manufactures don't put in the telescoping steering wheel as often anymore...because people will wind up killing themselves on the airbags and blaming the manufacturer for it....
some higher end vehicles or luxury vehicles like Lincolns or BMW suv's have this telescoping steering wheel feature...some do some dont

The bonneville we had was a 97, the one before they changed the style and grill to be simular to the Grand Prix Pontiac. This baby was sporty looking and full of electronics but sadly the altenator couldn't handle it all. Had 6 altenators replaced in two years time and the last time we just traded it off before the 6th one went out on us.

The only thing to fix is the weight.... the front suspension can be fixed, its actually a warranty issue if you take it to your dealer. And for weight the frame is built super stiff for hard drag launches and road course stability. for a 100% better ride just upgrade the suspension and drop it about an inch and help it breath better with a intake, tune, and exhaust components.
