Default OEM look touchscreen, nav, mp3, carPC install

Well since im a newbie on the forums I decided to share my work so far on my I.C.E. system. Its a full PC installed in the dash running XP but im running software to integrate the mp3's, navagation, videos, OBD2 and such. I also added 2 amps and a sub and it is louder and cleaner than the shaker system. Ive attached s couple pics but there is an almost 100 page thread on my build filled with many many more pics on mp3car.com. Anyway this was my first mod to the stang and get a LOT of comments from passengers. They all think its OEM!!. Whats nice is the 'frontend' software has different skins and there is a ford specific skin that I can run to make it look total OEM.

Wow! [sm=smiley20.gif] That looks great--very nice work!

If I may ask, what was the total cost of the install/conversion?

Best,
-j

Well yes, sort of I rip them to mp3 and just put them on the harddrive. 80 gigs, i have about 60 left. I am adding a laptop DVD drive in the glove box soon though. Ive been looking for a DVD changer for PC but I think I will end up with the single drive in the glovebox. Right now all my media is on the hardrive though. Not shown in the pics I have an ethernet port and USB port (for the pendrive) In the center console. Its nice because if im at school or something I download a bunch of tunes to the USB drive via FAST *** connection. Plug it into the car on the way home and enjoy the music. I then add the songs I like to the Harddisk that is sitting behind the the 12 power outlet. I also rip DVDs to avi and put them on the harddrive. They are accesibe via the 'Video' button. I was using the alpine skin tonight, and Ive decided to use it for awhile, besides it matches my amps Remember this is a full blown PC. It has 512 ram and a miniITX MB. Any PC hardware can be added to it. So its ike asking if a PC can play CD's. Only real difference form a home PC is the power supply im running. Its a DC > DC power supply with a shutdown controller. Your House is an AC > DC power supply

Clean install man. Congratulations. I have considered a car PC a couple of times.
