A Little Much!!
Hey, Are you ready for this?
I just talked to the dealer where I purchased my Roush. I asked them if they were going to get any of the Shelby's. They said they are getting 5 of them. They are taking orders at $25K over sticker price. I told him that was crazy. He said they have already taken a couple of orders. What are your thoughts on this?

I think it's robbery. I hope Ford makes enough of them so some of us blue collar guys can afford one. I ABSOLUTELY refuse to pay anything over msrp. I guess I wll probably have to wait a while to get my hands on one.
well considering that my v6 was going over sticker!!! gt verts were going for over 45k!!
crazy
when my dad went to order a shelby a few months ago (my mom finally gave in) they told him that it would be easier and cheaper to get a gt40
as i said, crazy

I agree that for me it is way too much to ever consider. And again, if I want to invest, I'll do it with stocks (which I'm not tempted to drive around town).
However, this looks consistent with the auctions that are appearing on ebay--the BIN prices are $20K - $25K over MSRP. So that may sound crazy, but obviously the dealers seem pretty convinced they will be able to move the cars at this price. If they're right, then it's not they who are to be blamed as "crazy" but those willing to pay this much for a Mustang.
Best,

And everyone said I didn't know what I was talking about 6 months ago when I said it would be $80- $85K IF you could even get one....hmmmm
First years are definitely out for most of us and Ford has made 0 announcements on 08+ numbers so there's no garuntee it's ever going to be readily available. Personally, I have a stinking suspicion Ford is going to promote this as the 'flagship' car with a more reasonable and price watered-down marketing ploy of the GT supercar to promote regular mustang sales. If I'm right, you won't be seeing too many of them EVER...
EDIT - I also think it is a waste and a darn shame... But I also believe they will be coming out with a regular 'cobra' eddition to compliment the 'bullit', 'boss' and other styles that will be coming in the future. The shelby will be remain that 'elusive dream' while ford banks on the fact you'll buy one of the other 'speciality' cars they produce in much larger numbers and with a big fat 0 licensing fees to Mr. Shelby. It's all about money gentleman, and trust me when I say they would rather sell cars where they make every dollar themselves....
