Default Valentine 1?

Anyone have any experience with this unit? How does it work?

I have owned a Valentine 1 for about 3 years now and it is simply the best radar detector I have ever owned. I do a lot of highway driving due to my work and frequently find myself speeding at about 85 mph or 90 mph. My Valentine 1 has never failed to alert me with plenty of time to slow down and avoid the speed trap.

It's expensive; but IMO is worth every penny. I would also recommend the remote display module for a stealth installation.

I love mine. I have it mounted up high on my windshield and the power hard-wired. The range is excellent and like the others above I find the arrows to be a great asset. I think if you go with any of the top tier RADAR/LIDAR detectors you won't be disappointed. A couple of my friends have the 8500 X50s and they're also excellent. That said, I wouldn't trade them for my V1.

I have the new 06 Bel STi Driver. Was $450 from Circuit City. It's a great detector and the only to ever beable to defeat all RDD's. The thing though is a radar detector will only detect an active radar signal. With that being said, it is only going to work if the Cop has his gun on all the time and not just clocking whatever car he see's fit. i.e. sports cars. So if you are the only sports car around and the first he is going to zap, you just got caught speeding. The radar detector will tell you but it will be to late.
