Default Gear install question

I'm going to have 3:73's installed, the person doing it has done many Mustangs but has not done an 05 yet. What should he be aware of with the 05, so I don't get the whine problem. I'm getting the Ford racing gears. I read somewhere that something should be checked before removing the original gear but I don't know what. Or what else should be done. THANKS FOR ANY HELP.

It actually has a special cut. It has something to do with the curve of the teeth on the gear. My guy said it does set-up slightly differently in order to get it to track properly. My presumption is the backlash, etc is different. Since you're using FRPP gears if your guy is experienced, he'll be able to figure out how to get it to track properly. I know on mine the track marks showed a very consistent pattern covering almost the entire face of the teeth and my does not whine at all.

As long as the guy knows what he is doing. Mines getting ready to go to the shop for another set. The last guy didn't know his salt. I'm going to go with 3.73's this time though to take advantage of the low and mid power torque that my sc puts out. KB also says that these are the best gears for the quarter mile with their setup.
