94 Vette vs. 05 Stang
Nothin' crazy but still a little fun,
Was on the way to my bro-in-law's house when I noticed a beautiful convertible Corvette behind me in the right lane, top down. I heard him downshift and chirp his tires as he came up on my right side. He smiled at me and I gave him a "thumbs up"...it was an extremely clean car, looked like it came off the showroom floor. At the next red light we were side by side and actually had a chance to talk a bit...he said it was a 94 and he hadn't owned it for more than 15 minutes, he was on the way home from purchasing it. Thought that was ironic...he said he liked the new Stangs and then the light turned green.
After a split second hesitation we both hit it...I heard his tires grabbing for traction (sounded like some bad wheel hop action or traction control was taking over, not sure if the 94's had TC), my tires barely chirped (auto) and we were off...at 65 I let off the gas with his front lights at my rear bumper.
Honestly, I was kinda surprised...thought from the look/sound of his car he would take me even though I know now that stock he's at about 300 hp and 340 torque.
Regardless it was fun and kinda funny that he hadn't owned the car for more than 15 mins and had already been beaten by a Mustang.

Very nice. I like the way you told the story; short sweet and to the point.
My father has a 2000 vette. We havent officially lined them up, (both of us are scared of losing lol) but we have toyed with each other a few times. Im able to hang with him very well in a straight line and in the corners. But when push comes to shove, I think he would walk away from me.[:-]

Yeah, I wouldn't mind owning an early 90's Vette convertible just to toy around in...honestly I think this dude was a bad driver (he had just bought the car, LOL)
think I would've won anyway, just not by as much if he'd been more used to his car.

I am going to race my own car this summer at the dragstrip against my cousin driving my vette. Although he's a good driver, the Vette is an auto with a Transgo shift kit and 2400 Vigalante stall converter, LT headers, Magnaflow hiflow cats and cat back, and various other "free" mods.
It should be a pretty close matchup.
