Little specks of rust...2005
Hello -
I have a 2005 GT with about 4k miles on it, and it has developed tiny specks of rust on the lower half of the car. It has seen a little snow, but that shouldn't matter. I take good care of it. Some of these specks can be scratched off with your fingernail, but it is still annoying. I'm going to take it to the dealer, I've only had it for two months, and see what they say. Anyone seen this before, or know what kind of response from the dealer I will get? Could this be a defect the is deserving of a new paint job? Thanks
Paul

It's probably not rust if you can scratch it off. Sounds more like road tar. Get a clay bar (meguiers or any other brand) and use that on the affected areas. If it really is rust, take it back to the dealer.

Like he said sounds like road tar. I usually srub it off while washing my car. If you don't wash you vehicle very much and don't get all the little bits of road crap off it while washing you will get those specks. What I've seen is the longer they are on the harder to get off. Good Luck.
