scraped brake calipers

scraped brake calipers
I have scrapes on my brake calipers in several spots, like the wrong wheels were on there. I boutght the car new, it only has 220 miles on it, it's a pony with the 17" rims, and there is no corresponding scrape on the wheel spokes. Is this maybe deburring or something prior to assembly, or should I investigate fuirther? Any thoughts? I have never seen this before. I can do pics later if that would help.

The pics don't really capture anything. I looked on an 05 and it had a similar thing, like they milled down the calipers.
It just touched a nerve, because my ex neighbor the idiot had new rims screw up his brakes, because the hubs had a larger OD than the ID of the calipers. (Which meant new rims and a front brake rebuild)
