Default I'm invisible to cops

You know, I just realized this today. When i'm in my wife's Lexus RX and especially my Honda Pilot I can wizz past cops so fast that if I was a cop I'D GIVE MYSELF A TICKET.

Since I've had my '06 Pilot a cop has never given me a second look. Doin 75-80 on LIE and Sunrise Hwy and I mean they don't even look up!

However when I'm in my stang I'm so paranoid that I'll get pulled over that 65mph is fast for me.

I read once a quote that said "the fastest cars around are the slowest on the road b/c their owners know that one dip into the throttle and they'll get pulled over". I'm beginning to believe it.

Has anyone else noticed themselves doing this?

nah, not yet, just keep my eyes open for the usual hiding places. The only problem is that my car goes to 80MPH too fast, doing 60MPH on the Southern State just doesn't feel right! [sm=badbadbad.gif]
I don't go TOO fast on Sunrise Pkwy though, but that's because of the traffic lights too. My only "somewhat" real race was on Sunrise Pkwy, against a G35.

As long as the cops aren't invisible to you, then you've got a better chance of not getting a ticket. That's why I just ordered myself a Valentine 1.

Yeah I highly recommend a radar detector to any Stang owner. It has saved me so many times.

+1. I got the Escort passport 850 X50 and it has saved me 4 times in the first month of ownership

I dunno. The view out the windsheild is a lot less than from most other cars, making harder to spot smokie!
I consider it a minor miracle that I haven't gotten a ticket (or at least pulled over) with this Look-At-Me Screaming Yellow!
I guess it's because it's an American car that cops tend to go a little easy?
There was just an article on this fact in the magazine from Auto Club, if you drive a boring, ugly car, with no performance rep you will be able to speed more than if you drive a Mustang or Vette!
Just another reason for me wanting a new color on my GT!

I'm with ya on this one. My car is a major cop magnet. I can't tell you the number of times I get followed on the highway and in town and I am SOOO obeying the speed limit and everything else.. Now with my F150 on the other hand.. I should have gotten a few tickets and didn't even seem to raise the eyebrows of the cops..

don't get too cocky whether you are in a prius or a GT500. Around town the flashy cars may get more attention but radar and Lidar will get a speeder ticketed on the highway no matter what kind of car it is.

I was in traffic court once and guy with a Tercel was trying to get out of a speeding ticket my arguing that his car couldn't get up to the accused speed in the amount of time/room that he had.

GUILTY. next case.

They're out to get me!!! It's true...

2 tickets in 5,000miles and both BS. It's like that one commercial back in the day....where the dog runs into the parked car cuz it looks fast. I swear I've gotten other ppls tickets because they were speeding near me but I look like the one going fast....at 20mph

i just drive normally .... its truw they have thier eyes on me waiting for me to do something... but i drive as legal as possible infront of them ... IE if the cars wer going 60 on the streets and the limits were 80 ... i go 75 and snake pass them with signal lights .... so u can say dangerous but legal ..
