Default Finally purchase XCal 2, have Q about 87 oct tune...

Found a local place that sells the SCT XCal 2, and they loaded the SCT prefab map. They assured me that torque management was removed by SCT on the base tune. The car deffinately feels peppier on the 87 tune, but still wont light up the tires in first gear by just slamming the gas down with T/C off. So I called SCT and they informed me they dont remove TM on there base tune.
Does anyone with a stock GT with just an SCT 87 oct tune, that they know has TM removed, have any problem lighting up the tires by just stomping it?

I have the CAI + Xcal2 from Fred with his 87 octane tune. If I ease into first and let the revs climb to 3500 and then mash the gas 1/2 throttle or more the rears break loose, more gas more wheel spin. So it appears to me that Fred's tune removes the TM you mentioned.

Called the place who sold it to me and had him look up the base 87 tune, and sure enough, TM is not removed on the base tune. So get this, this place is about 10 miles a way from my work. The salesperson who sold it to me is coming here on his lunch break to pick it up, and he will return it to me tomorrow with the new tune! Pretty cool.

The place is http://www.uprproducts.com .
Very fair to me so far. Will post up when they bring it back tomorrow on how the car feels.

Wow, that's pretty good service. I'm not so sure I'd let er go all night, like where will she be ? Who else is gonna drive er ?
and....... that salesman is gonna have to make sure the tires light up, how many times is up to him.
Good Luck

No, no, no!! He is picking the tuner itself up, bringing it back to his place, erasing the old tunes and putting the new revised tunes back in it!

with freds 93 tune abd C&l cai, it doesn't matter if TC is on or off or what gear i'm in... Lower 1 with tc off is more tire screaming then anything but with it on in regular drive i can lay about a 5 foot patch if i go woot from a dead stop... i have the ld 3.27

They came and picked up the XCal 2, he says it will be in my hands by this evening. Pretty [sm=smiley20.gif] service.

Well they brought it back and installed the new tune(I really hope my stock tune is still in there) and it does feel snappier, but still wont break the tires loose by just stomping it in 1st gear. Maybe because its still a bit green? Its only got 18xx miles on it.

ORIGINAL: AmericanMuscle4.6GT

TM is a setting in the software to reduce the amount of TQ transmitted to the rear wheels, reducing the chances of braking something. Instead of slamming the gas down and snapping the throttle body wide open, it opens it at a slower rate, so it doesnt shock the driveline with too much TQ.
Atleast thats what I believe it to be.
