Thinking about going topless

RE: Thinking about going topless
Why not go for the best of both worlds. There is a company called Smoothline that offers a removable hardtop for the Mustang. They don't have one for the 2005 yet but they say they have it under develoment.
Convertible Hardtop

dont be so sure on that, and alot of guys will say that if you get a vert, or a yellow one its a girls car, but from all the girls the only thing you get is "can i go for a ride, can i go for a ride, please please please." also people say that a vert is only good for X amount of months and to them i say bull, as long as it is above freezing out the top goes down

I love my vert and happy I didn't go with the coupe that I was originally looking at. If you do a lot of cruising, then the mustang GT vert is the perfect car IMO. That is a pretty good deal at 28k too. This is my first vert, but I might never own another coupe. I get complements every day, and don't think anyone would say that it's ugly with the top up. JMO
Good luck!

LOL! Here's your "girls car"!
And like others have said Verts get WAY more complements! All the 05/06 Mustangs are nice but the GT vert is tops (or topless) on the list!

RE: Thinking about going topless
I know the 'vert doesn't quite have the original "Mustang" look but I love the way it looks. It's just beautiful IMO..... It's the best choice I've ever made. Salesman tried to keepselling me coupes, but I just wouldn't have it. Oh well, to each his own, as stated as before. As for girlie yea right, Girls who can master a GT, is just plain hot, but there is nothing girlie about this car, It doesnt exactly look like a an eclipse or bug convertible does it ???[sm=youreright.gif]

RE: Thinking about going topless
Topless is the only way to go. This is my third Mustang. Had an 66 vert and a 79 5.0 hatchback. There is nothing like doing around 40 down a four lane road on a clear spring or summer night. Oh wait there is.......Pulling up to one of those import kids with the ridiculous looking and sounding mufflers and the mismatched aircraft sized wing on the back. Dropping down to neutral and clearing the old freeflow out. Some have tried to hang....all have failed thus far! But I digress.
I like the looks of the hardtops. But nothing looks quite like a topless one!! I'd go for it!!

I would settle for a sunrrof. Please may I have one, Ford?

If I had my choice, I would never own another car with a sunroof.
Gotta be a true convertible.

RE: Thinking about going topless
I absolutely LOVE my Vert...
The only time the top is UP is when she is parked and I'm not going to be around.
NOW... the perfect situation woudl be.. buy one of EACH - which I am thinking I might do when I get this one paid off next year.

RE: Thinking about going topless
Prof,
I agree with you there...one of each WOULD be perfect.
I drove the Tungsten vert today (BEAUTIFUL car) but the dealer was absolutely lowballin me on my trade in. I walked out and told them to call me if they changed their mind. The 05 Silver vert that I drove yesterday is actually a good deal IMO, I called my buddy back at the dealership and told him I'd do it if they would adjust the #'s too match my current payments exactly...I don't think they'll do it though. The vert IS a more expensive car with less mileage and unless I sell my Stang on the street I've got to be prepared to take a hit...simple math dictates that my payments ARE going to go up if I don't put a chunk of $ down.
The truth? I can confess that I've been bitten by the "topless bug"...I drove the Tungsten vert around today for quite a while...it was a great feeling, similar enough to riding my motorcycle that I could see it replacing it more often than not, it's safer, more comfortable, still looks bad@ss, and I can toss the family in for a night out!
We shall see...........

I totally agree with this philosophy. I love my Vert GT!

Only 'verts for me. This one is my third. The vast majority of car owners, even Mustang owners, don't race their cars. So the small handling/speed difference will go unnoticed by most. You just can't beat the fun factor of taking the top down on a nice day. All your friends want a ride, you get an easy tan, and if your looking for the extra stand out factor a vert is definitely the way to go.
If you like cruising you can't beat a vert. If you're gonna race it's a hard top. As much as I like the Mustang if it was only offered in HT I would be driving something else in vert.

RE: Thinking about going topless
Gotta disagree with you on this one. I think they look good with the top up. Everyone says they bought the hardtop because of the nostalia and the old school look, but I think the vert looks like the old school vert just like the coupe does.

Agreed they are great with the top down, and ugly as hell with it up. While the coupe is gorgeous all the time.
