Back window blew out

Back window blew out
Has anyone ever heard of the back windshield blowing out on a 2005 GT convertible when putting the top down? Nothing was in the well, just put the top down heard a pop brought the top back up and the window was blown out. I took it to the dealer and they said they never heard of it happening, I took it to the body shop and they said it happened to one on the show room floor of the dealer I got it from. Has anyone seen this happen before, I have to replace the whole top and I really don't want this to happen again since ford is not standing behind their car. Don't get me wrong I love the car and I am a ford guy, I am just a little disappointed.

Why wouldn't they replace it? Certianly that has to be a textbook example of faulty workmanship. Certianly it is not normal wear and tear and not caused by any sort of abuse. I would stomp my feet a lot on that one.

So then the dealer seems to be considering you to be a liar? Contact the regional rep. You should be presumed to be honest until they can show that you are not, and if the window broke in the course of an ordinary top retraction then it is a manufacturing defect which is covered by the warranty (i.e. CONTRACT) that Ford has given you.
And, since I have a 2006 convertible on the way, I have a keen interest in this.
