Default Tire Dilemma?

So after much thought, I've decided to get 20"s for the stang. There have been alot of post on here in the past whether to go with 18"s or 20"s and how i look at it is; if Saleen, Cervini, Carrol Shelby's aftermarket stang and now even Roush I believe as an option, come with 20"s then why not put them on. IMO, after looking at the Shelby GT500 pics, the rear wheel just looks to small. But anyways now is what i believe to be the hardest part: TIRES. That's when all you bas *** people on mustang forums come in. What is the widest tire I can fit in the rear without having a rubbing problem? I was told i can fit a 285 and maybe even a 295 but I'm not exactly sure. And with that said, what tire go you guys and the few girls out there, believe is the best? I thought about the new Toyo T1R but the 285 the make is a 285/30 which is a little to thin for my liking. I want atleast some meat in on my wheels you know. Well please give me some advice. Pics, suggestions, comments, anything will do.

Default RE: Tire Dilemma?

I'm having the same problem trying to figure this out (see my thread). I guess I'm going to have to do some measurements and use the tire/wheel calculator to figure it all out. The one unknown is suspension travel, I haven't a clue. I'm wanting to switch up to a 255/40-20 front and 265/45-20 (or bigger on the back). I too am concerned with rub, especially in the front. Let me know if you get any feedback, in case I miss it.

One thing, the first thing anyone is going to tell us is, the bigger the heavier and your performance will suffer. Also, the brakes will then be a little under rated as well. For me, I'm going for the look and not performance.

One last thing, I love the front bumper cover on your car, I just can't remember who makes it. I'm looking to go to a blacked out grill but still want some sort of fog lights, I like yours and would work great for my planned look. Also, could you share with me the cost of the new bumper, paint and install? Also, do you have a chin spoiler? If so was it part of the setup or did you buy it in addition. It was added, let me know the details on that as well.

Thanks.
