Default Chrome tips for exhaust.

My car was supposed to come eqiuped with "Dealer installed ecces."Chrome tips for the exhaust. It didn't come equipt but the dealer shipped them to me direct. They look pretty simple to install just slide over and torque down.My question is Does anyone else have these? If so does it effect the natural sound of the factory Rumble? And how do they look?

I have seen them on a car at a dealer's lot. I thought they looked pretty cool.

Seems however that a lot of guys on this board shoot-them-down since they are not welded on. Seems like more of an ego thing to me. I actually got on the ground at the dealer's lot to look at them close. Yeah they're bolted on, but so what.

I have never heard a car with them; but it would seem to me they would have no discernable effect on the sound.

I have the bolted-on chrome tip for my '05 V6. I think it is a nice easy way to acheive a better look. It is purely cosmetic though (no noticable sound difference). You really cant see the bolt unless you look closely. I'd say go for it if you want!

They won't affect the sound at all. They are merely cosmetic, and look fine ( in my opinion ).

I recently bought a Gibson Stainless Steel Exhaust Tip for about $38.00. I never liked how the factory tip stuck so under the bumper.
I didnt want no chrome plated tip either. I was buying my Mothers Reflections over at A & A Auto and asked the guy there if there were in stock. I reallt didnt have a clue on what size to get. He said, "Lets find out". I grabbed one off the rack and went to my car. It was too small in size, need a bigger one. Tried another it went over the pipe perfect but too long. The 3rd one he tried was perfect. I am going to smooth the inside edge better with my dremel tool . The rag gets caught on it when I throw some wax it. It's not the rounded inside but it looks good and a good price.
No difference in sound, just for looks like others said. This one has the clamp intergraded on it with one bolt. Just slip it over your pipe and start to tighten. When you feel it just about grabbing it, position it even and tighten.

Heres a few pictures of it.

Thanks for the input. They arrived the other day.Installed real easy just like advertised. And no noticable change in sound. Here is what I want to add next along with some pics of the car before the chrom tips a L/P bracket in rear. Over the top or a nice touch with the Chrom accents? http://www.ssinserts.com/Merchant2/m...tegory_Code=18
