Well, there's no spot for threads for just socializing so i put it here even though it has nothing to do with the new stang. Anyway, I'm always getting flac from a buddy at work for buying American cars. He thinks they're all crap and built like ****. He's a Honda man. I can't wait to show him this article about his almighty Honda's that are the best built cars that never break.

http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/pro...5152>1=8284
LOL!! What he doesn't realize is that most Honda's in the USA are actually BUILT in the USA!!

I have a Civic HX as my daily driver. It was built in Lima Ohio. The only foreign part in it was the transmission from Japan; the rest is made and assembled in the USA.

Odessey Minivans are from Birmingham Alabama; Accords are from Marysville OH. I also think they have a facility in California.

My wife had a Chrysler Sebring Jxi convertible. This was before it was Daimler Chrysler. The engine was made my Mitsubishi; the transmission made in USA, the car was assembled in Mexico.

So ask your friend, to define "Made in America!"

Mike
Actually Odysseys are also built in Canada too, and Civics are built in Japan, Canada, and Great Britian (Si) and Accords can be built in USA, Japan, or Mexico. The first digit of the VIN will tell you: 1=USA 2=Canada 3=Mexico S=Great Britian J=Japan. (Not that anybody cares, unless they do what I do for a living.) And a half million failed solder joints in this current recall doesn't hold a candle to the money Honda is forking over for all these failed automatic transmissions in the V6 Honda and Acuras.

You should direct that at all the anti-domestic guys who think their Civics and Camry's are built strictly by Japanese hands.
