Painted stripes

Painted stripes
After reading all the problems with the plastic tape stripes I decided to have mine painted. I have a 1966 black fastback that I had 1984 Cadillac black cherry stripes painted on to match the Shelby stripes of '65/'66 era. When doing my 2006 black Roush I found that this combination worked very well on this car also. You need to find a painter willing to do custom work and spend the time to wet sand and polish the panels so that you do not end up with lines or bumps where the stripes are applied, of course clear coat is applied over the stripes, covering the entire panel. The stripes are so subtle that unless you see them in direct sunlight you cannot tell that they are there. At car shows the compliments are worth the price and I've had many people inquire about them. Not to brag, but damn they look good on both cars. Before someone asks, $1,500.

RE: Painted stripes
Painted stripes are the best looking for sure! here is my black GT with 10" LeMans stripes painted in black cherry with red-to-green flip-flop and orange & blue pearl highlights added. My stripes change colors depending on the amont of sunlight and the angle. The car is getting the rollbar painted black and striped to match the rest of the car today and should be done by Friday.
