I ordered a new 2006 GT...and right off of the truck, the clutch had a little chatter when feathering to park or go into the garage. I then found when I drove it for an extended time and it got to open road temps., when attempting the feathering, it would chatter so bad it would shake the whole drive train intensily. It now has 1000 miles and is at the dealer as we speak. I know clutches well and told them it was bad from the beginning..they are now tearing it down to "inspect" it ...I said it better be completly replaced!! I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem??

I don't know if a clutch counts as a wear item or not but they should replace it at 1000 mi. As long as your tires aren't bald they shouldn't raise the abuse flag.

I am very specific as to breaking in an engine...oil dropped and tested at 500 miles..and 1500...I haven't gotten on it much and never have dropped the clutch...and they are quite aware of the driving done so far...

Ford replaced the clutch assembly yesterday...found the pressure plate was not matching up and had light and dark areas...the new one is the way it should be..tight and positive off the floor...totally different...the old one was spongy and came in 1/2 way up...sucked!!
