Default Lowering pains...

After installing lowering springs on your car, how many people had to go buy a different jack with low profile? I have access to a 4 piont lift, but it's useless. My stock 05 GT sits too low for the arms to swing under the frame. When I slide a floor jack under, I have to make 50 of those little pumps before frame contact. There is a jack that lifts fast on the first pump then slow as weight builds. I also don't feel the lift pionts shown in the book are stiff enough. During my last oil change it squeaked too much as I lifted it just to get the plug out.

I had to buy a low profile alum. jack from Northern tool right after I lowered mine. Jacking the rear up is no problem. For the front I jack it up from the main support beam at the front of the engine at the back of the plastic shroud the beam is covered by the plastic so you got to make damn sure your jack is under that beam. http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...3355_200313355

I bought my floor jack from Summit. Aluminum, weight is about 30# and is has a capacity of 3000#'s Works great. And it was only $80.00 + 0r - a couple.

Pepboys has some small metal lifts that you can drive on to get a jack under the car. They even come with a nice bag to keep them in.

I'm also seriously considering getting a Kwik Lift System. They are around $1400. But you just drive the car on it and use your regular floor jack to raise it up and set the support legs.

ConsumerAutoParts (CAP) had their "lowrider" on sale a week ago; I think it was $129; I believe you only needed like 2 3/4" to get her under there.
