Oh My God you keep making yourself look more and more stupid with each post. Do you even have a clue as to what tires are available for 20" Wheels? No as is obvious by your post. And have you priced some of these tires not something you want to sit and do burnouts with all day. The tread depth on my tires is most likley the same as the tire on a 17,18 " wheel the only differance is the sidewall area. You really are clueless. And i will ask you again. Where is the picture of YOUR CAR??

O and I know full well what a supercharger is and what one feels like.

Wow, very interesting looking S197 there???[sm=bs.gif]

Well there has seem to be a whole sh*t storm about this threard so let me make it clear.

What i wanted to know is what width on the 20's people have and what tire size they have put on them and if they would post a picture of the setup.
Also I am building a show car for SEMA so this is for show and im putting some effort into getting everything together so it will look good and run hard.
After SEMA when i do go to the track i will have a set of track wheels as well.
I dont care if you think 20's dont look good there is no need for you to even be in this thread.

jeez, I'm dealing with children. Did I ever say you 'can't have a s/c? NO - please READ if you can, what I say, not what you want to hear. I said specifically - "Just too bad you won't get any real world expereince from forced induction or any real feel of how awesome this car can be if you do a little mods and let her loose. You'll never know that rush on 20's."

I am talking about the TRACK. Where am I getting my info from - well just go to summit or any supplier of slicks/drag radials and find me a tire that will fit a 20" x whatever for the S197. You won't but go try anyway so you will feel stupid.

What I specifically mean by 'real world experience' is actually getting to feel the car hook and run. It is a completely different experience than cruising on the street and you wouldn't believe the difference in feel/power when you can get your car to hook. In ANY racing, rubber is always the primary concern for the car.

Granted, this effects the track and most of you will never see a track so the practical applications admittedly don't matter so it just comes down to looking dumb to me. You bring up foose like he is a god and most all of his stuff loks like crap to me. Only his hot rods are worth any respect, but any of his rebuilds or conversions like like sheet and RICE. Again, my opinion. I will post pictures of my car but certainly not in this ricer thread.

I offerred an opinion that did not agree with some of you and you get all wired and uppity like it's the end of the world. Why would you even care what I think? I'm certainly not losing any sleep over any of your opinions. Justify your ricey rims to yourselves till your blue in the face. I really don't care. I just offer that if you're going to be rice, go all the way and be proud of it.

As far the the saleens - please give me one timeslip of a saleen on 20's at the track? You won't cause it would be embarrassing...lol And I don't know what you're going to do with your 480 hp dyno queen. I know what you AREN'T going to do. You are not going to hook...
Umm......can't you just keep your 20's on the car for your street driving and have your set of drag radials or slicks with the stock 17" wheels???? I'm confused....[sm=smiley25.gif]

I know. I should have never gave an opinion in the first place cause it wasn't what you were asking for and I apologize to you. I only kept going for the other jerk-offs who were pissing me off. To be real, you have to have 20's for SEMA cause just about every stang there will have them. I was being an a-hole for even posintg my opinion in this thread, and if others had responded like you or not responded at all, I would have left my stupid one post as is and been on my way. Good luck on your car. Just to be nice - 20X10 seems to be the norm for the shows and you can get away with a 20x10.5 but that's about as wide as you can go without relocating the rear sawybar. Tires can run up 1.5" over max rim width and still fit nicely.

Way to start back pedaling now. Also do you see anywhere in my post where i said or even implied that the supercharger in my picture was in my Mustang. Hey brainiack. My Mustang is Red My truck is Green. And again i will ask you WHERE IS THE PICTURE OF YOUR MUSTANG???

Most of the Mustangs on the road will never see the track so your implication of 20's not doing squat for track time although maybe slightly accurate is pretty far off base. I am glad you think you know all there is to know about going to the track and if that is what you plan to do with YOUR car then i wish you all the luck. I will not bash you for wanting to do that after all it is your car and your money. The simple fact is you might want to keep your negative bashing on what other people like opinion to yourself. My car will not see the track. I have built it to enjoy driving while looking good and as a show car as well.

Well let see... Maybe not 20's but close.. Corvette, Chrysler 300, Ford GT, and a few more that I can't recall at the moment. It's all about style and what we all think looks nice. Of course you are entitled to your opinion, but IMO, it doesnt' make a diff to us that like the 20 inch look.

PS, I'm on my 2nd set of rears in less than 1000 miles!

Oh , I just thought of a car that is equiped stock with 20 inch rims and it is a muscle car... Duh the Saleen Mustang. If I recall, Ford sells this model, last time I checked! Gotcha!!

Good thing none of you guys are making any power with those 'pimpolicious' 20" rims. Your rubber cerrtainly wouldn't last that long. What a useless mod and travesty to amercian muscle IMO. Please find me 1 single pic of any year factory amercian muscle car on 20" rims? Get your boom boxes and LED lights and you guys are all good to go to the mack daddy show. 20's belong on imports and trucks IMO.

I never back pedaled. If you had made this post first I would have left it alone, but you specifically starting attacking. It's obvious it's your truck and that's the point. I said in the beginning 20's belonged on trucks and imports so what possible reason did you have to even bring your truck up other than to show it off? I admitted I made an a-hole comment and you started an internet dogfight over it. Perhaps someone ventured into this thread and thought everyone loves the looks of 20's so I was offerring another view. Nothing wrong with that. I gave my opinion and it doesn't matter to me if you agree with it. Just as my opinion shouldn't matter to you. You don't deserve to see my car.

My opinion that 20's are stupid on stangs is no less valid than your opinions that they are great. To each his own. You resort to name calling because deep down, you feel guilty for destroying such a beautiful amercian muscle car. How much hp do you think those rims got ya? 20's are rice - that's my opinion and I'm sure it's shared by as many who think they are great as you do. Name calling for my opinions shows your age.

There is much more evidence to support my theory than yours - i.e. find any amercian muscle car from any year with factory 20" rims. You know you can't cause it's never been done. Why has it never been done? Because it's stupid, that's why.

Old school or new school, it is still, by your own admission, a 'muscle car' and 20" rims are stupid on a muscle car any way you want to slice it...period.

Just go to the track with your 20's and see how much respect you get.
Actually bigger wheels do server a purpose, lets see you fit the 15" rotor from rotora behind a 17" or even an 18" wheel. They dont fit unless its 19" or larger and 19s have pain in the *** to find tire sizes that most places do not stock so 20s make more sense. Now granted mybe not everyone i upgrading the brakes that far like me, and maybe you cant afford 20s i dont care the reason grow the hell up, and as it was brung up in a recent post 20s can be found on Ferraris, BMWs, MB, are these all rice??????

20" tires are going to burn just as fast as 18" tires the 20s simply have less sidewall.

PS. I Guess the Saleens and Ford GTs are rice too...

And as I have said on many other forums in the past, if you dont have anything nice to say then dont say it, if you dont like something then dont read it and if you think something looks like @ss then dont look at it, the cars belong to the owners and they will do as they please as long as their car pleases them.

I dont care if you like mine im not out to impress anyone, most people on this board are of this same mind. And if this thread continues like this im gonna report it and suggest it be locked.
