My opinion that 20's are stupid on stangs is no less valid than your opinions that they are great. To each his own. You resort to name calling because deep down, you feel guilty for destroying such a beautiful amercian muscle car. How much hp do you think those rims got ya? 20's are rice - that's my opinion and I'm sure it's shared by as many who think they are great as you do. Name calling for my opinions shows your age.

There is much more evidence to support my theory than yours - i.e. find any amercian muscle car from any year with factory 20" rims. You know you can't cause it's never been done. Why has it never been done? Because it's stupid, that's why.

Old school or new school, it is still, by your own admission, a 'muscle car' and 20" rims are stupid on a muscle car any way you want to slice it...period.

Just go to the track with your 20's and see how much respect you get.
Actually bigger wheels do server a purpose, lets see you fit the 15" rotor from rotora behind a 17" or even an 18" wheel. They dont fit unless its 19" or larger and 19s have pain in the *** to find tire sizes that most places do not stock so 20s make more sense. Now granted mybe not everyone i upgrading the brakes that far like me, and maybe you cant afford 20s i dont care the reason grow the hell up, and as it was brung up in a recent post 20s can be found on Ferraris, BMWs, MB, are these all rice??????

20" tires are going to burn just as fast as 18" tires the 20s simply have less sidewall.

PS. I Guess the Saleens and Ford GTs are rice too...

And as I have said on many other forums in the past, if you dont have anything nice to say then dont say it, if you dont like something then dont read it and if you think something looks like @ss then dont look at it, the cars belong to the owners and they will do as they please as long as their car pleases them.

I dont care if you like mine im not out to impress anyone, most people on this board are of this same mind. And if this thread continues like this im gonna report it and suggest it be locked.
Good post and as a man i will step up and apoligize to blowngt for calling you names. That was improper of me but like most have already said here you had no right to bag on the poster. And coming into a forum and bashing someone for what they like is something that really just pisses me off. It really does not matter if you like or dislike something. So i would say that unless someone asks for your opinion on how something looks, sometimes it is best to keep your opinion just that YOURS!

I still think you have no car though.

Richard

I have no problem hooking up, as you say! I have driven the car with both stock and 20s and seen no diff. Now if you were talking about racing, I have no experience there. All I know is the 20s seem to be a little better in the traction than the OEM 17s (not to mention no wheel hop). The avitar pic is from a power brake burn-out. But again, my experience thus far has been favorable with the 20s not to mention the compliments I have received for style and looks!

Ouch - such animosity from the dog pound. The only valid point you made was he asked for help regarding the size and not for opinions on them so I do apologize for giving my opinion that they are crap on the stangs. He (the poster) wasn't asking for opinions so I was out of place giving one.

However, I believe I originally said 20's belong on IMPORTS and trucks so posting pics of trucks is kinda silly isn't it? Just in case you weren't aware, imports also include european cars as well as asian. The word RICE is not a japanese word. It is an american word used to describe a certain 'style' or 'genre' of vehicle. A mustang with 20's falls into this category to me.

The main point of the 20's being ridiculous to me is you well never get any good rubber for them. That's why I made the track referrence. You will NEVER hook up with 20's no matter what tires you try to find. Why, because you won't find any good tires that will fit. If you ever try to smoke your tires, they won't last long and once you tread out a 20", forget it, ride over.

Again, only my opinion and it only matters what you like. Just too bad you won't get any real world expereince from forced induction or any real feel of how awesome this car can be if you do a little mods and let he loose. You'll never know that rush on 20's.

I am running 20x10 front and rear with 285/30/20s and sportlines... and I do not have any issues with rubbing at all.

I went with 20x8.5 all the way around so I can rotate as needed and the 8.5's fit flush with the wheel well in the back and don't stick out. It gave it a cleaner look to me. It really makes a difference in the appearance of the cars with 20's Performance may suffer just a small amount-negligible. You can still run with a car with 18's or anything else. Obviously Chip Foose thinks 20's are ok for muscle cars and he sure seems to know what he is doing. Get the 20's they look good!!!!

I for one like the look of the 20s on the Mustang. It gives the car a more refined stance with a taller and shorter length look. With the correct tires they can also add ground clearance so you don’t drag on stuff.
