Default Factory 17" Bullets

I know that this has been asked before, but what is the biggest (read widest) tire that I can fit on the factory bullet wheels. I am going to get a set of DR's to keep on my old factory wheels for when I go to the track.

I don't care about the proper height, I can allways reset the speedometer.

I know that I can get a 245, but can I it a 275 series tire on there.

I think 275s is the largest you can go.[sm=badbadbad.gif]

I thought that 255's is as wide as an 8.5 rim can (should) go, and that is it without looking for trouble.

The wheel is 17 x8. 255/50-17 is the widest tire that will safely fit.
