on either side of the console above the rear view mirror (where the maplights are) there are two little circular "vent-like" things. it looks like Big Brother is watching me. can anybody tell me what these are?

I've been curious about this since I bought the car and I don't have an owner's manual yet, so...

 

Those are the motion sensors for the active anti-theft system

 

They ARE Big Brother...

Homeland Security requires all cars made after 9/11 have monitoring systems installed to watch all citizens for ilegal terrist activities, such as hauling cow poop around or filling your car with Nike Shoes.
