Has anyboby installed a remote start in their stang? Or, does anyone know of the best brands for our cars? I'm looking for something with a good range, and that will work with our security systems.

Mine came with one when I bought it. A great thing to have for the summer and winter!

 

With my Explorer and it's security system is the same I had to go to ford to have it done. Nobody around here wanted to do it, or you had to get diffrent keys and all. It was expensive.

 

Mine was installed by the dealer before I bought it (I wold not have bothered with it).

You can buy the kit from Ford and install it yourself but it is pretty involved (lots of wires and parts to install).

I found the PDF file of the install intructions and believe I saved them.

I just got a Shelby CS-750R installed in mine and it is great! It has a 1/2 mile range. I haven't tried it that far away, but I am able to start my car from inside a store while the car is parked quite far off in the parking lot. It was fairly expensive, $600 including installation, but it was money well spent.
