Look at it this way. You either pay for Mustang modifications that give you satisfaction. Or you make payments or co-pays to a Shrink under your health plan. Therapy is how I like to label my personal obssesion. Of course the angst I vent over trying to determine if I want a CDC chin spoiler, let alone if I should paint it or not is tremendous. They don't put drawers in coffins to take your money with you. As long as the kids are fed, the house is warm or cool, and you have some socked away for the eventual nursing home, blow the rest.

+1 to that. Sorry dude, youre hooked in the modding spiral. Friend of mine told me one time, "Once a modder, always a modder" and since I got my Mustang that statement is ringing true. It started out me just wanting some exhaust, that was a few weeks ago. Since then, I have currently ordered about... 5-6 more things (all of which are on back-order [:@]). Theres nothing wrong with wanting to mod your Stang and loving her, its a healthy natural relationship. One thing I do advise though is I have seen many friends of mine get into trouble because of this, ALWAYS make sure you have the money to blow before you do it. Nothing worse than racking up a hefty credit card bill and not being able to pay it off.
I'm with you on that. I don't buy any mods on credit. I just hope I find a cure!
Deep down inside you dont want a cure... sorta like the Hulk

I told my friends about the Hulk comment and we were rolling about it... Good job bl1nkage..

I just ordered an 07 Mustang GT and with me being stationed in Germany, It wont be arriving till around Sep/Oct so I have a little wait.. Still though, I'm on e-bay already buying mods cuz it's just so damn fun. I've already gone through 2 motorcycles which I modded out to the point I couldn't do anymore.. I'd say it's sad.. but again, it's just sooo damn fun!!!!

Hi. I'm StangPilot and I'm a modder.
**Hi StangPilot**
I too started with the simple exhaust mod because it was "cheap". Now I can't stop my addiction. I am currently in need of a short throw shifter and A/V upgrade. Those mods will only cost me around $2,000. That's nothing compared to my wife's addiction with clothes, jewelry, and home upgrades. I justify it this way - this car will be with me 20 years from now. I am going to spend the money on it, why not start now?!
Thank you for listening. What a great group!

Thats why you find someone thats gets just as excited as you about the mods.
My GF of 2 years helped me install long tube headers yesterday and got mad when I wouldn't let her put on ALL the bolts/nuts.

Lord knows my wife sure hopes my "almost finished" story holds true!!
Shucks, where else would I have to drop $39K...

That's the great thing about Mustangs. They are more aftermarket parts for this thing than any car you can name, including the 'vette.

I've caugth the mod bug too. I've never modded any of my previous cars. I just didn't see the appeal. But now that I've added the ram air intake to my '05 GT, I just have to keep adding more. Next is the Hurst Short Throw, and then new mufflers, then new wheels, then the Saleen SC, then... OH MY GOD, when will it stop?

Furinox,
A nice car and an understanding woman...what a combo!
Actually, my wife is pretty cool. For not having a paycheck for a year now and having 18 months to go before I get a job I get away with a lot of questionable expenses!
