Default GoodYear F1 GS-D3

Anyone have them on their Stock 17 rims ? I was thinking of going with the 235/50 in the front and 285/40 in the rear, the tire dealer said we can go as far as 315/40 in the rear but I do not want to push it. My main concern is how the tire will fill the wheel well. I don't want it to look like I jacked the car up, the stock space there is enough for me. I also don't want to wind up having to drop my suspension and get new shocks, struts etc. because I am unhappy with the space in the wheel well.
Opinions and pics would be appreciated.

315 in the rear? Wow, that would give the car a good looking stance. Go for it!!

They said you can put a 12.4" wide tire on stock 17's? Aren't stock rims only 9" wide?

I'm with d_man777 here. I really don't think there's any way those are going to fit your stock rims.

I did not know how wide the 315's would be, but did think too they would be too wide. This was the owner of a GoodYear shop. Any thoughts on the 285's in the rear and keeping the stock size of 235 in the front. I think that would give it a fairly good stance with some extra traction in the back.

285 is WAY too wide for the stock 17" rims let alone a 315. The stock 17" wheels are only 8" wide. I would not go any wider than a 255 on the stock wheels.

I believe the GT500 is 245 front and 285 rear. If your going to do 315 on those rims, I would purchase and install at that guys shop. If it doesn't work it's on him. Even if the 315 is safe, I think there there would be more flex when turning.

The GT500 is listes as having the following size tires P255/45ZR18 performance front tires & P285/40ZR18 performance rear tires
18" x 9.5" GT500 unique bright machined wheels w/SVT center caps.
If the stock rims are 9" wide then the 285 in the rear will probably fit, I think I may just play it safe and go with a 275 in the rear and stick with the 235 in the front.

If you are talking about the stock 17" rims they are NOT 9" only 8". The 18" wheels are 8.5" I believe but the 17's are 8" for sure.

The 18's are 8.5 and the widest you can go with them is 255's.
