Default 2008 Mustang

Hey guys just read this in MotorTrend August 2006 page 12 quote below.

'Mustang Fords ioronic ponycar will be given a major face-lift in 2008 wherein every exterior panel except the roof center will be substantially changed."
Since I am looking to pick up a 08 anyone know anymore details (info) on the 2008's.

TIA

I'm assuming what he is trying to say is that they will be doing more body modifications in 2008. Basically, changing the car again but keeping the frame, engine, tranny, etc.

I am guessing that it was meant to be "iconic"

The only guess I have is that maybe they'll make it closer to the 1969 fastback look. I can't imagine them straying too far from the retro look that has positioned this generation of Mustang to the top of the sales charts.

I though they weren't going to be any major changes till 2009 - 2010 from what I read in the past guess theydecided on 08. I agree with you that would be nice on the 69 and I hope like you said they don't stray to far. I really like this body style alot if they change the wrong way I would have to think about going with an 07 but since orders for 08's start next May or June 07 should be enough time to order 07 if they mess up the 08.

If they went more of a 69 retro look that would be nice, IMO get rid of the 1/4 windows and add some 1/4 scoops or hips like the picture below some one posted here I think it was. Now because of Motor Trends quote I will be watching and searching for info.

I don't know about body styles but from what I've heard through the grapevine, they are going to try and improve on the performance. With the Camaro and Challenger coming out they want the pony car to compete. I know they are looking to improve the Shelby to 600+ horsepower.
