Default Wheel size & tire size opinions

Getting a 07 GT supercharged- with stock 17"s Which way would you go for tire and wheel size. I would like everthing to be same all around for rotations. My choices are 17x9 255-50 17 or 18x9 255-45 18. I think it would be best to have a wider tire to deliver the power to the pavement. Any suggestions out there? Thanks

Brand new here myself. I'm putting 20x 8.5 in front and 20 x 10's in the rear on my 06 GT. I bought Foose Nitrous 5's for it which should look ....well you can guess. I'm so excited to get it done this saturday. I've done some extensive research here and yes go with the 18's for sure and you should lower the car as well. You may also want to put in a larger rear end to handle the transference of power to the pavement! It's cheaper than you think about $650.00 installed

I plan to do 255/45/18's up front and 295/40/18's out back. I have a Saleen supercharger on my 05 that has pushed me up to 408rwhp (460bhp). And let me tell you, on the stock suspension and factory 17" Pirelli's.........my car doesn't hook for nothing. Definitely go aftermarket with your suspension setup (control arms and lowering springs at least) and try and get some wider rubber on that backend.

P.S. If your blower is gonna be pushing you up over the 400rwhp mark........and you intend to do some hard launching.....you may want to look into getting a 1 pc aluminum driveshaft. Once your power starts getting up there and your tires are hooking good, your rearend tends to become a target for breakage.
