It's inside the console.

does it use the "aux" button reserved for the sat radio or just switch over when it gets a audio signal?

I would guess it would just be a harness that plugs into the 06' port and feeds into the console.

Unfortunately this is not a simple add-on, the new aux jack is part of the main wiring harness. There's a scan of the '07 harness here:

Dont they have the 50 buck accessory adaptor to go from the back of the 06 head unit to a mini plug?? If so, plug it in behind the head unit, extend the audio input cable to the console with an extension cable or hardwire, and order the jack and plate for the console and just wire it to the harness you added.

Or just buy a panel mount mini phono jack and wire it to that inside the console.

Not really... the $50 option is an FM modulator - transmits an FM signal that is played through the radio. Works fairly well sometimes.

For adapters that actually plug into the Shaker...
The P.I.E. FRD04-Aux plugs in the back of the 05-06 Shaker and profides two RCA "outs"... it's around $90. There is an adapter from Blitz that goes from the P.I.E. to the iPod which will not only play, but charge the iPod while in use. It's retail is around $50.

The '07 apparently has the MP3 plug in the console - one female plug, so it's not going to control the iPod or other MP3 players. There is an adapter by Peripheral (PXDP2) that will allow you to control the iPod through the Shaker... around $185(?).

...hope this helps...

This is the one you're talking about, it is controlled through the head unit plus keeps the iPod charged, so the iPod can basically go anywhere (inside glove box, etc.):

You have to read through the thread, the link in the first post does not have the device listed that is being discussed in the thread. Start at post 31.

Yes, those posts are refering to the same thing... There's an additional wiring harness that may bump the price over the $185 I remembered... Once I receive the '07 the goal will be to use the armrest/console. I'm wondering if I can keep the "factory" MP3 connection and add the Peripheral to use them all? just a thought...
