They are having that rebate on the v6, atleast according to their commercial. It says on the bottom of the screen that the Mustang GT does not apply.

Maybe he's talking about getting a 6?

the commercial with that american idol guy?? i was just at ford they never said ANYTHING about a 3,000 rebate isnt it only 1,000 or gas card?

<--- buying a stang within the next month and the only rebate right now is the $1,000 one... and i've been to 4 dealerships in the last week as well as scouring these forums and fordvehicles.com for any info on rebates after their current ones expire (jul31) but in all that searching i've never heard of a 3,000 rebate.

If you are patient you can get more then that off a GT. I got mine for roughly $500 above dealer invoice due to heavy negotion tatics and mine is a 2007 5 speed manual that only sat on the lot for a little over two weeks.

Also, when you start negotiating, salesmen love to show you their "invoice price" and tell you that there is no way they can sell the car lower than that because they wouldn't make any money. That is total BS. My window sticker was almost 29K, their supposed invoice was over 27K, and I ended up with the car for 25.5K. Also, they will try to get you to buy worthless crap in the finance office, don't let the finance officer talk fast. Make him slow down and explain everything he is telling you until he puts it in terms you can understand. One last tip, I went on the last day of the month. If you're lucky, they will be trying to meet a monthly sales incentive and it will help you to negotiate.

Milwaukee, how do you think I did on the haggle? I was curious to know from an ex-dealership employee, and you're the first one I've talked to.
If you are happy with the sale then you did fine. As far as your sale went thats a good deal, I keep in touch with the dealership I used to work for (Owners son is a good friend) and they arent giving much discounts on any GT's and if its on the lot they wont go any more then 1k off since they know it will sell for close to msrp. on the 06's they have they are selling those with total discounts of up to 4500 just to move em, they are a big truck and family car dealership so they have like an acre of cars at a storage lot and he told me they over bought 6 cyclinder mustangs when the gas crisis began so they have way to many left.

How can I get more off than that? I got it for $1,500 UNDER dealer invoice.
