Roush hood scoop install..?? PLEASE HELP..!!!
I just installed a CDC scoop for a friend yesterday. As for the fasteners, yes, there is a tool to remove them. It looks like a screwdriver with a very wide tip and has a v cut into the tip and is angled about 20 degrees or so. Makes them a breeze to get off. Did not like the CDC scoop. Had to do a LOT of prep before paint as it had waves etc. in the molding. The pattern used to place the holes in the hood is not right on the money and it took a lot of playing around with it to get it straight.[:@] It came out really nice, but what a pain in the rump to get right.

i ordered mine direct from roush painted and all it was $270 after shipping and it was pretty easy to install it right, the biggest problem for me was getting all those damn fasteners out to remove the insulation under the hood!

I've got the Performance White one, painted by Roush. It's dead-on color wise, but white's a pretty easy match. Easy install too.
Here's a pic...

Mine had massive fitment problems. The front "legs" on the scoop arent held down with bolts or tape. They just floated a bit off the hood so you could see light under them! That was totally unacceptable. I went round and round with Roush about this and actually went through 3 scoops. They finally sent me a painted one that was destined for one of their show cars. It still didnt fit, and the body shop took two hours to make it right. We finally wound up gluing the blockoff plate to the inside of the scoop. That made it sit flat against the hood. I love the look of the scoop, I just wish Roush had designed it a little better. [:@]
I had that problem on mine as well, but I removed the 3M tape altogether and it fit down onto the hood just fine. The adhesive tape was just too thick to allow the scoop to seat down all the way. The seven bolts have held it in place without any issues since I installed it a couple of months ago.
Gald you like it. It really makes the hood stand out and look more aggressive doesn't it? I think some of the other scoops are just too small to really look right on that long and wide hood.

Like the rest of you...I also plan on installing a Rousch Hood Scoop. I have a black 2006 GT and went to a local body shop for an estimate on the installation. Unfortunately, I was not driving the Stang with me and the shop owner told me that if he had to drill holes and the paint cracked around the holes that he may have to paint the whole hood...as you can imagine that got my attention. Then he asked me if a question about the under hood part. I.e., would it be easy to drill all the way through or do I have to go through two layers of sheet metals. That also got my attention. I went home and looked under the hood. It looks like it does have a double sheet metal layers at the front, but then it singles out about the middle where the scoop would go...so the question is..for those of you with the experience and who have drilled through...was this any issue?
paint cracking was not even an issue, and drilling was a lot easier than I thought it would be and I didn't even use an autopunch for the holes, just light pressure with your average cordless drill and vuola!
