Anyone using methanol injection on their blown 05 Stang? If so, does it really enable you to achieve higher HP numbers safely?

Sounds about as safe as nitrous or alcohol...

Nitrous: IF nothing goes wrong and it's setup correctly it is "safe" however each time you use it it will take some life out of the motor. I have witnessed many perfectly good engines scatter peices all over the landscape because of a poorly put together nitrous setup that failed in one way or another. If you are going to use nitrous take your time, do your research FIRST before you just run out and stick on the first nitrous setup you see that has the cheapest price. Set it up properly and you should have no problems.
Also keep in mind that these 3 valve engine's pistons have a top ring land that is closer to the top of the pistion than most engines. This was done for emmisions purposes however this does not make it a suitable pistion for use with nitrous. Personally I would not use nitrous on one of these engines because I don't have the cash to replace my engine if the nitrous blows it up. With that said I know people are using nitrous on these engines with success. I would not use it often though because of the piston issue.

I would not use it unless you plan to go over the 500rwp mark or much more.. even then I might not do it. It will help if you cant run 100 octane all the time. I lost my block becase of a meth kit.. but lots of it lays on the tuner that was stoping on it when it was coughing on the dyno.. over and over. I have talked to some people with it on and so far they have been good.

Thanks for the link Go Blue. I had actually read some of Alternative Performance's literature on methanol a while back. Interesting to see they actually designed a kit for the 05 Mustang. All the tuners around Phoenix seem real negative about pushing these engines any further even with the meth kit. I guess Lost Soul's experience is why. (Sorry to hear about that) What did it cost you to replace your block? Were you able to shortblock it or did you have to buy a whole new engine?
