Default Appointment for rear end whine

It happens 50% of the time when the car is hot. Now, I know that it does happen when the car is hot and I know that it's TSB 05-21-2.

What should I say if they aren't able to reproduce is at the dealer? Will they even try to?

Mine didn't do it all the time either. It was intermittent, but it DID in fact do it. That's what I told them.

They took mine for a drive and I guess they heard it because they never second guessed that that was the problem, so I'm not sure what will happen if they can't reproduce the noise.

Tell them they need to keep it UNTIL they CAN reproduce it. Dealers always tell you they cant hear it. They just dont want to do any warranty work. Tell them its necessary they keep it until they reproduce the sound as it could be unsafe for you to drive your vehicle in the condition its in.

i just got mine done with the tsb. they at first didnt say they heard it, i told them i would refuse to pick up the vehicle until the tsb was done. they then did the clutch pack, (the tech stayed late apparently to fix it that night) and i picked up the car the next day. problem went away entirely. Just demand the tsb is done.....the WHOLE REASON the tsb exists is to fix THAT problem....why would ford do it if they didnt want to help the problem? makes sense dont it? good luck

My dealer never let me finish telling him what I was hearing. He stopped me and said, "When can I fix that for you?" I picked it up the next day and it's quiet as a church mouse! Good Dealer Huh!

I didnt have any dealer problems, called Friday stated the probelm. Droppped it off Monday presented them with the TSB I had printed out had it back before 6:00pm same day. I think it helps if you get them to give you a loaner, they seem to be much faster when you have one of their cars in your hands.

Thanks for your replies everyone. I took the car in today at noon, the guy looked at the TSB and just told me to bring it in tomorrow and leave it. He also said that a bunch of people had this done at their dealership.

Awesome!
