RE: installed 4.10s...
its all good... i am just all sorts of confused... i hear this from this person and that from that person...its driving me crazy! the gears are FRPP 4.10 ring, pinion, bolt and cross shaft. it is a used set and i await its arrival. i am almost positive i will need an installation kit, but i didnt knwo if i could re-use the bearings since i JUST hit 3200 miles. i may need the shims though...
i am not planning on getting a differential.i am only going with a steeda cold air and 93 octane tune for the gears, exhaust and intake. should net +35rwhp when all said and done. 200 whp is not enough for a diff. when i get the blower, i will get the diff.

Don't get on them early and often.Break them in for atleast 100 miles or so.You have to let them heat up and cool to harden.I agree with you I'm a little disapointed in my 4.10's as well wish I went with 3.73's.I lost 2 mpg freeway and city. And the differance is not all that noticable.

Well just my two cents I will be going with the 4.10's when I change my gears. I changed to 4.10's on my old 2000 gt 5spd and for what its worth one of my best choices. So very soon my new 06 will have the same treatment.
