So my plan originally was off road H-pipe with stock mufflers. I want it louder, but not obscenely loud.

My buddy who has a 5.0L Fox body says an H pipe is a waste, and that a simple cat back would be MUCH better than an h-pipe for my car. He says stock has an X-pipe and it is better than wasting money on an H-pipe.

Whats your take?

Stock GT has a H-pipe. Catbacks will have 0 HP gains. It you just want louder get a pair of axle backs.
