Ya, I had a tough time gettin mine out as well, a lot of prying and swearing, lol.

Took me like 2 seconds to get it wedged out. I used a flat head screwdriver and just pulled the flap of rubber around the face of the filter away and pulled on the trap with a pair of needle nose pliers. Bout as easy as removing a light bulb. This thing looks like a BRILLIANT idea by ford. Not bad for a free mod.
