Default WOOT! New Parts Coming

Just ordered a CDC Shaker Hood and a C&L CAI w/SCT Xcal 2 tune from Brenspeed this morning. Hopefully it will all be in next week and the hubby can get to work installing! I'm very excited this is our 1st big mod purchase except for the FRPP axel backs. If anyone has installed either of these things and has some tips or tricks to make it go smoother they would be much appreciated. Thx.

I don't have any tips, but you will love the difference the CAI and tuner makes, especially in 2-3 gears.

Measure twice and cut once. Better measure 3 times since it's the hood.

<----- The Hubby.............. I was goign to cut the hood with a jig saw. You guys think this is the best tool for the job? I was planing on taping the guide plate so it would not scratch the car.

I'm not sure i'd recommend a jigsaw. Seems like it might pull on the metal. It's good that your asking before cutting though. Hopefully someone who's done it will chime in, I don't have much experience with cutting sheet metal. I cut the steel frame on my ford ranger with a dewaltz sawzall and it cut through that shiot like butter!

I think i'd use a cutoff wheel for the straight cuts and for any tricky curves I might use a grinder and take a little off at a time. Of course that might get it too hot, but the hood doesn't seem very thick either so you could probably use some scissors in the middle, LOL!
