Default splash guards

hi all

i have black mustang and im constantly having to wipe the lower portion of my back bumper so that it doesnt look dirty or have water spots from small road puddles around l.a. while i know splash guards wont totally emliminate this problem, i am sure they would help to keep the lower portion of the bumper cleaner. i was wondering if anyone has splash guards (preferebly with a GT bumper) on the rear and if they have any pics of how the car looks from the side and back end with them. the bumper isnt as important as just seeing what they look like installed in general.

thanks!

It seems like I always have the answer for you phunnyguy.

I have a GT rear bumper and splash guards. Not a single speck of road sludge has gotten on my rear fender since I've put them on. And they blend in nicely with my black stang.

Picture seems a little dark on this monitor. I'll see if I can take a better one when I get home.

Mine are pictured. I had to use a bigger washer on one bolt as the middle hole was too big (see the first photo), but yes, they prevent all that splashing on the hindquarters! I have these morons up my alley who have a leak for several months now and it goes down my alley all the time. Like a small stream! No other way to get to my parking spot but even with very slow driving it would cause a mess. No More! Got mine through the Ford Accessory site. They are showing some fading the other day, after over a year. Or else I got some wax on them. I'll check it out when I get a chance.
I am also seriously thinking about seeing if I can order a pair of the splash guards from the GT 500. They are lower profile, not sticking out as much. There are lots of folks here who put down splash guards because they are so wide! Makes it look a little like what lots of Valley dudes were driving in the 70's!

Just wanted to update this old post by showing the new GT500 splash guards I installed. They have a tiny square hole in the for some reason. I'll have to check out a GT500 to see what it's for. But they go on perfectly. I took off the old Ford Mustang GT ones and these went on ok. The holes in these are much better, fit perfectly with the holes in the fender, so no need for any washers.
Take a look. I'll try to see if they fit on V-6 models.

I am selling these on eBay to try to get some extra income. My username is Crunchers9. I start the bids at just $6 and list new ones before the old auction is over, so there's usually a good price to bid at. Thanks

Mud flaps do not belong on a Mustang.

These aren't mud flaps but rather splash guards and yes they should be put on all Mustangs if you care about your rear quarter panels.

They would be cool if they came factory painted. Getting them painted would be a huge hassle...[&o]
